Statement

The camera acts as a lifeline and my most trusted companion. This work is an exploration of when my body betrayed me. This psychodrama plays out in what can be called the Room of Requirement, the living space that hosts all the accouterments that keep me alive, this includes my darkroom. The tenuous and often perilous relation between the mind and body is what plays out across the array of investigative hand printed photographs, (note: the hand printed). Through doubt, trust, satire, existentialism, and faith in the photographic medium I create a visual essay on existence. One in which my dependence on objects and the people who prop me up.
